Every dog in the K-9 Corps has a specialty. Spareribs is a messenger dog. The less said about his pedigree the better. Huskie is a complete contrast to Spareribs. A magnificent specimen of the breed, Huskie carries himself with pride. Big, powerful, he is trained to accompany reconnaissance parties, catch the scent of strangers and warn his handlers. His keen nose has spoiled the plans of many an enemy sniper.
On New Guinea the two dogs, their handlers and a native Angau guide parachute down to search for two very important officers whose plane has crashed high in the Owen Stanley Mountains on the slim chance that the lost officers are still alive and can be rescued.
